Icelandic artist Jófríður Ákadóttir aka JFDR returns today with a brand new single called “The Orchid”. It’s the first new music she released since her brilliant studio album “New Dreams” from 2020. In the mean time the talented artist also scored the film Backyard Village and the mini-series Sisterhood.

We love everything JFDR does and we are so glad to see her come back with new music. “The Orchid” is a stunning piece of music. JFDR’s heavenly vocals are backed by a beautiful ethereal production filled with strings and synths. Every song she has released is just magical and we are hoping this is the start of a new era including more new music.

About the new single she says:

“​​I call all my songs orchids. I am obsessed with the flower. It’s a very cunning flower, its beauty has led it to become the most popular plant or flower in the world. It symbolizes (among other things) fertility, and I was thinking a lot about rebirth and a new beginning. Fertility, creativity, beauty and mystery are all embodied by the orchid.”
