Nation of Language is back with a brand new single titled “From The Hill”. The song is will be part of a 7″ that’s set for release on December 9th and will also include another new track as a vinyl exclusive “Ground Control”.
Nation of Language is still heavily touring their brilliant 2021 album “A Way Forward”. Both records of the band are in continuous heavy rotation and we are so glad they keep on releasing stand-alone singles to keep us warm. “From The Hill” is Nation of Language at their best with Ian’s soothing and heartfelt vocals against an icy synth production. About the new single Ian Devaney says:
“‘From the Hill’ is a song reflecting on times when friendships fall apart over romantic entanglement, accompanied by the sensation that you’re somehow watching it happen from above with a more zoomed-out perspective. It can feel at times like certain parts of life are a story with which you’re just following along—the characters enter, they play their role, and then they leave. Often it’ll feel sudden and catch you off guard, and other times you’re able to see that it’s the only way things could have played out despite what you may have wanted.”
We love everything this trio does and can’t wait to see what they will do for their next project. Until than, give the video for “From The Hill” a watch below.
