French duo UTO have shared the follow-up to their 2022 debut ‘Touch The Look’ today with ‘When all you want to do is be the fire part of fire’. To celebrate the new release UTO also share a music video for the album’s new single ‘Napkin’.
New single ‘Napkin’ is one hell of a banger with sweet vocals and an infectious instrumental chorus that brings us back to the 90s breakbeat sound. It reminds us of the earlier days with subtle touches of artists like Moby or Saint Etienne seeping through. The experimental pop duo have really outdone themselves again with this new track and the whole album is just as colourful and full of surprises. It’s one hell of a rollercoaster ride and UTO effortlesly rolls from one genre and soundscape into another while stilly maintaining their unique sound and making it all sound cohesive. Be sure to give the music video for ‘Napkin’ directed by Bilou Dricot a watch below.
About the new single they mention:
“‘Everything starts, everything stops in the unknown’ are the opening words of this song, handwritten on a paper towel. Much like the fate of a paper towel. This song speaks to all those who jot down their thoughts and leave words on the bedside table.”
