Over a year ago, the talented Swedish-Australian sisters Elektra and Miranda Kilbey, known as Say Lou Lou, made a splash with their track ‘Waiting For A Boy’. However, following that release, things sadly quieted down again. But today, fans can rejoice as the dynamic duo returns with an electrifying new single and accompanying music video titled ‘Wong Kar-wai’.
The new single is a great homage the the acclaimed director Wong Kar-wai, who you might know of classics like ‘Happy Together’ and ‘Fallen Angels’. It sees Say Lou Lou deliver their signature dreamy soundscape, filled with ethereal synths and a strong nostalgic nod to the end of 90s / early 00s. Fans of William Orbit produced music from back then, like All Saints or Madonna will absolutely love this new track. This one might be one of our favourite Say Lou Lou tracks released so far. We wouldn’t mind hearing a full album in this soundscape. The duo promised that more music is on it’s way this year. We can’t wait!
About the new single the sisters say:
“Wishing you were somewhere else, not here, anywhere – that love was like a film, a dream, anything but this tired, sad reality. Wong Kar-wai is a director who manages to reflect longing and mystery, a master of composition and capturing how chance encounters can be the fate that you needed.”
‘Wong Kar-wai‘ is out now on all platforms via Cosmos.
