One of our most anticipated records this year is definitely “HiRUDiN“, the 4th record by Katie Stelmanis aka Austra. It’s the follow-up to our favourite Austra record “Future Politics” from 2017. After taking some time off, Katie is fully back and ready to share “HiRUDiN” May 1st via Domino Recordings.

Earlier this year, Austra made her grand return with the highly infectious “Risk It“, followed by the stunning “Anywayz“. Now she’s sharing another single and accompanying video before the album drops. “Mountain Baby” is a collaboration with a children’s choir from Toronto and Montreal musician Cecile Believe (formerly Mozart’s Sister). The new single marks a different direction for Austra and explores the different stages of a breakup. Which is beautifully portrayed in the song’s production and singing parts of the choir, Katie and Cecile.

After hearing these 3 singles, we’re pretty sure “HiRUDiN” might be on its way to become our favourite new Austra record. We can’t wait to hear more!
