Art School Girlfriend, the moniker of British musician Polly Mackey, has just released a new single titled ‘Close To The Clouds’ which will be included in her upcoming second album ‘Soft Landing’. The release of this new single comes after the release of ‘A Place To Lie‘ in January, which was the first track to be revealed from her new album.

‘Close To The Clouds’ is a dreamy electronic track showcases Mackey’s soothing vocals against a stellar production that gradually builds to a dance/rave-inspired vibe. The song’s introspective lyrics and nostalgic atmosphere make this once again a mesmerizing track like only Art School Girlfriend can create. About the new single she says:

“‘Close To The Clouds’ is about looking back on my twenties with some kind of wistful hindsight. I wanted it to embody the energy of the music I spent a lot of my teenage years and early twenties listening to. It’s about reflecting on the winding path to contentment, having finally figured out how to find it.”

She also mentions that the new album explores the themes of reflection, joy and coming of age and the album title is derived from the lyrics of ‘Close To The Clouds’. We can’t wait to hear more Art School Girlfriend. Both new tracks have been absolutely brilliant.
