Åland-raised, Berlin-based artist Julia Carlsson aka Snake Orange Cake has shared her debut EP ‘Lucid‘ with the title track leading the way.

‘Lucid’ is a really nice atmospheric song that has truly turned me into a fan. There’s a subtle tension building throughout that perfectly mirrors her singing ‘running running away, running towards‘ on top of the dark and atmospheric production.

Snake Orange Cake blends organic textures with synths and the EP moves fluidly between song, spoken word and experimental electronic sounds. I just love the sound she’s going for, it has a little bit of this alternative indie sound from the 90s. Definitely a great debut EP and I’m excited to see what’s next. An artist to watch!
