London-based indie pop artist Malaika is back with ‘External Things‘, the third single ahead of her debut EP ‘Dye My Hair Dark In The Summer‘, out May 12.

Following on from ‘Pretty Pretty Thing‘ and ‘Real Deal‘, she’s quickly becoming one of my favourite new artists. With every release I fall more in love with her and her sound. There’s just something about her vocal delivery that touches me and the new single is another gem.

Speaking about the single, Malaika shares:

“‘External Things’ is a song about how sometimes it’s easier to choose a temporary fix when you’re feeling down. But in the end it’s just temporary dopamine that eventually wears off.”

Super excited to hear the EP in full. ‘Dye My Hair Dark In The Summer‘ is out May 12 — Malaika will also be celebrating the release with a headline show at Folklore Hoxton in London.
