London-based indie pop artist Malaika has released her debut EP ‘Dye My Hair Dark In The Summer‘, alongside focus track ‘Simple Like That‘. Following on from ‘Pretty Pretty Thing‘, ‘Real Deal‘ and ‘External Things‘, she has firmly cemented herself as one of my favourite new indie pop artists — and with every release I fall a little more in love with her and her sound.

Simple Like That‘ is another beautiful example of what makes Malaika so special. There is just something about her vocal delivery that touches me every single time, and the way she glides over the warm, vibrant indie pop production feels completely effortless and natural. The EP as a whole is a wonderful listen and feels like a real statement from an artist who is clearly on the rise.

Speaking about the EP, Malaika shares:

“‘Dye My Hair Dark In The Summer’ is an EP that encapsulates the last six months of my life. It’s about being a girl in your 20s and finding the fun in this world despite its hardships.”

Dye My Hair Dark In The Summer‘ is out now.
