South London’s Amie Blu returns with ‘Swimming In Pity’, a soulful, modern cut that blends rich instrumentation with her unmistakable warm vocals. It marks the first new release since last year’s ‘something will give’.

Following her knack for heartfelt songwriting, the track explores self-sabotage and the comfort found in sadness, set against a nostalgic and immersive soundscape. Built on delicate textures, the song takes a raw turn in its second half, as a gritty electric guitar shifts the mood towards bluesy intensity. About the new song she mentions:

“I sometimes find a lot of comfort in my own sadness, and find it easier to wallow in my depression. As hard as it is to pull yourself out from that kind of place, it can also be really easy to just sit with it. ‘Swimming In Pity’ is me acknowledging this feeling of my own self-sabotage when it comes to my mental health.
