Copenhagen-based trio When Saints Go Machine return with their new double single ‘Chainsaw / Trying’. It marks the experimental electronic group’s first new release since their 2023 album ‘Rosy’.
Known for blending all kinds of genres, like electronica, techno and post-punk, it comes as no surprise that When Saints Go Machine keep on mixing up their style. On the dreamy new singles, it sees the band take their experimental sound to new heights by adding a more organic soundscape. Both new tracks are a fresh new direction and especially ‘Chainsaw’ is an instant favourite to our ears. The new tracks delve into abstract, transformative imagery, resulting in two beautifully atmospheric crafted songs.. Be sure to give the music video for ‘Chainsaw’ directed and edited by Albert Hildebrand, a watch below.
About the singles they mention:
“One day in the middle of it all, on a treatment table. The images that appear, that open something. Is it a gate? No, it’s something vibrant that makes daylight something other than just daylight. A chainsaw into the body, transforming into something almost religious. To use that word. Epiphany. Something that becomes visible, something that steps forward. This is what it’s always been about. To explore what it is.”
“More than ever, we want to make images burst through sound, creating a web of connections. That’s what’s truly valuable to us right now. Embracing a shape that’s round, full and yellow. A chainsaw into time.”
‘Chainsaw / Trying‘ is out now on all platforms.
