Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Del Water Gap unveils his new single ‘Losing You’. It’s the first single taken from his forthcoming album ‘I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet’. The new record also features the previously shared singles ‘Coping on Unemployment’ and ‘All We Ever Do Is Talk’.
We are loving the heavy 90s resurgence that has been going on in music lately and Del Water Gaps’ new single ‘Losing You’ perfectly embodies the indie pop-rock sound from that era. It’s a mesmerizing track dripping in nostalgia about the fear and vulnerability that comes with being in a new relationship. The new single also comes with a great DIY music video shot on film on the streets of Amsterdam. Del Water Gap is truly a talented artist and someone to keep your eyes on. We’re sure he’s destined for big things and we can’t wait to hear his new record. About the new single he says:
“Losing You is the first song I wrote for my album. This song is about the feeling of hearing words escape your mouth that you regret the moment they hit the air. It’s about being scared and digging your heels. I wrote this song literally minutes after walking away from a fight with a person I was seeing at the time. I threw down the phone and walked into Sammy’s studio for the first time and had started to cool off and it hit me that maybe… I was wrong. I’ve had trouble opening up in the past, and I find that openness can come with immense fear and insecurity. This song is also about wanting to be liked, not just loved, by the person you call your own. It’s about the way that conflict makes us regress, the ugliness that we inherit from our parents, and that the ultimate act of love can be admitting that you’re wrong.”
‘Losing You‘ is out now on all platforms. ‘I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet‘ arrives September 29th via Mom+Pop.
