Youth Lagoon, the moniker of Idaho-based musician Trevor Powers, has returned after a five-year hiatus with his new single ‘Idaho Alien’. Together with the new single and music video he also announced ‘Heaven Is A Junkyard’, his first new album in 8 years.

New single ‘Idaho Alien’ is a stunning single single with layers of atmospheric soundscapes all backed by Trevor’s distinctive and emotive vocals. It’s a song about identity and belonging set against a backdrop of lush and dreamy instrumentationt and a infectious chorus. The new single comes with a Western-inspired music video shot in Idaho and directed by Tyler T. Williams.

About the new album Trevor Powers says:

“Heaven Is a Junkyard is about all of us. It’s stories of brothers leaving for war, drunk fathers learning to hug, mothers falling in love, neighbors stealing mail, cowboys doing drugs, friends skipping school, me crying in the bathtub, dogs catching rabbits, and children playing in tall grass.”

‘Idaho Alien’ is out now on all platforms. ‘Heaven Is A Junkyard‘ arrives June 9 via Fat Possum.
