About one month ago, Katie Stelmanis aka Austra finally made her return to music. The Canadian artist surprised us with the release of her first single “Risk It‘. A track that took some getting used to, but in the end proved to be one hell of an infectious track. Now, Austra is ready to announce her forthcoming LP “HiRUDiN“. The follow-up to her brilliant 2017 LP “Future Politics“. The new record is all about the importance of healing the self, letting go of harmful influences and finding the power to rebuild yourself.

While first single “Risk It” was more left-field, new single and album opener “Anywayz” is definitely classic Austra. Katie’s unique and soaring vocals are backed by glistening synths with a melancholic touch. We especially love the middle eight part where the song goes into full 80s synth and disco territory. Both new singles are a 10/10 and we can’t wait for the full record!
