Melbourne legends Cut Copy return with ‘Still See Love’, the fourth single taken from their upcoming album Moments. With each release this year – from ‘Solid‘ to ‘A Decade Long Sunset’ and ‘When This Is Over‘. The electronic quartet has been showcasing a different shade of their sound, and we’re extremely excited to hear how it all ties together on the full album.
Built around organic percussion, live bass and swirling synth rhythms, ‘Still See Love’ takes inspiration from the likes of Arthur Russell, Francois K, and ESG. It’s upbeat on the surface but carries a melancholy core, with lyrics capturing two people holding on to the final sparks of a fading relationship.
Frontman Dan Whitford shares:
“‘Still See Love’ was a tune that came together pretty quickly, written about a couple clinging to what’s left of a relationship as it slowly capsizes. My idea was to make a song that had a verse and chorus that came from different worlds… it almost feels like it exists in two places at once.”
‘Moments‘ arrives September 5 via Cutters Records.
