Singer-songwriter Romy has finally announced her long awaited debut album. Today the London musician announces ‘Mid Air’ will arrive September 8th and together with the announcement she shares a stunning new single ‘Loveher’.
Mostly known for her work in The xx, Romy has been teasing brilliant singles for the last year or so. New single and album opener ‘Loveher’ is a beautiful and romantic dancefloor anthem. Romy’s heartfelt and soothing vocals glide against a euphoric production that is once again produced by Fred Again… The new album will also feature production from Stuart Price and fellow bandmate Jamie xx. We truly can’t wait! The press release says the following about Romy’s anticipated debut album:
“Mid Air is an album about celebration, sanctuary and salvation on the dance floor. It’s an album that deals with love, grief, relationships, identity and sexuality and is a love letter to the queer clubs where Romy found community and connection,” the press release said of the release.
It’s a coming-out album in a way, although she came out in her personal life a long time ago, but it’s also a coming-through album – through grief and heartache, towards euphoria.”
‘Loveher’ is out now and ‘Mid Air‘ arrives September 8th via Young.
