Belgian artist, composer and multi-instrumentalist Tsar B returns with her new single ‘I wanna love you’, taken from her upcoming album ‘The Writer’, out next week on January 30. She’s honestly one of my favourite acts out there right now and with every new release my excitement for the album just keeps growing!

‘I wanna love you’ opens in an almost ritualistic way, with Gregorian-like chants and Tsar B’s haunting voice. It feels raw, intimate and spellbinding, touching on desire and devotion. She sings “Love hurts, but it hurts so good” before the song bursts into a brilliant electronic breakdown that just feels cathartic in the best way possible.

Tsar B continues to build such a rich, cinematic world where sound and imagery fully belong together. With ‘The Writer’ just around the corner, it’s another powerful reminder that Tsar B is probably gonne deliver one of my favourite albums this year. I can’t wait!
