Softmax is back! Her new single ‘No ID’ marks her first release in a little while, and it sounds like a confident step forward while still feeling instantly familiar. From the first listen, it brought me straight back to the early 2010s, with that understated, soulful pop edge that artists like Rosie Lowe did so well back then.

‘No ID’ glides along on a smooth, slightly off-kilter groove, mixing warm pop melodies with a subtle electronic sheen. The song reflects on validation, visibility, and the strange mechanics of the music world, but it never loses its lightness and is in fact quite catchy.

This new chapter already feels promising and if ‘No ID’ is any indication of what’s coming next, I’m very excited to hear more!
