Kaya Wilkins aka Okay Kaya, the Norwegian-Americal alt-pop artist returns with her new single ‘The Groke’. It marks the musician’s first new release since 2022’s album ‘SAP’. Together with the new track she also unveils a music video directed by Julia Patey.

Okay Kaya continues her brilliant songwritings skills backed by an infectious and quite groovy production. She wrote the song on a small island with temperatures of -25 degrees Celsius and it’s brought to live by a stellar music video which sees Kaya in a surrealist desert-set environment. Fingers crossed this is the first taste of many more Okay Kaya music this year.

About the new single she says:

“I was thinking about The Groke as an apt lore of the Nordic countries brutal seasons, and about how climates around the world are getting more temperamental. The chorus end sentence is borrowed from Timothy Morton’s Dark Ecology”.
