I’m genuinely so happy to have Lykke Li back. Even though ‘Eyeye’ is probably my favourite record she’s ever made, it feels really good to hear her step into something a little more upbeat again.

With the announcement of her new album ‘The Afterparty‘, out 8 May, she also shared its lead single ‘Lucky Again’, and honestly, it’s been on repeat non-stop. The track feels big, dramatic, and alive in that way only she can pull off. There’s disco energy, cinematic emotion, and that incredible sample of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons via Max Richter that just elevates everything.

Lykke Li has always had a way of capturing emotional extremes, from the early days of Youth Novels to the raw intimacy of her later work. ‘Lucky Again’ feels like a new chapter, lighter on its feet, but still deeply reflective. I truly can’t wait to hear more!

The Afterparty‘ arrives May 8th via Neon Gold Records.
