The NYC duo Fcukers return with another bold release, this time with the heavy-hitting, D&B-inspired ‘Play Me’. Co-written and produced by Kenneth Blume (better known as Kenny Beats), the track blends a hyper, chaotic beat with sharp vocal chops and a nostalgic nod to ’90s / 00s rave culture.
Every Fcukers release feels like a new chapter, but sonically, they’re always on point. ‘Play Me’ hits harder and feels more anxious than previous singles, yet still carries that signature Fcukers edge we’ve come to love. And just when it gets too wild, Shanny Wise’s soothing vocals reel it all back in.
The single arrives with a self-directed video and a promise of more music to come. If this is the direction they’re heading in, we’re fully on board.
‘Play Me‘ is out now on all platforms via Ninja Tune.
