Norwegian singer-songwriter and producer Coral Head has shared her new EP ‘The Worst That Could Happen’. It’s my first time discovering her and I’m really loving the sound she’s going for. Blending trip hop, indie pop and dream pop, she creates something that feels both nostalgic and fresh in a really natural way.
One of the highlights is ‘Hiding in a Fog’, a collaboration with SIKADE. The dreamy atmosphere she’s crafted here is beautiful. Soft vocals drifting over hazy production that leans into those subtle 90s influences. It works perfectly as the closing track of the EP and just makes me want to listen the full EP all over again.
About the EP she mentions:
“It circles around anxiety as a returning state, where everything is filtered through a
lens of uncertainty, and everything is dwelling in hesitation. The ideas rolled off from making the first track,
“What’s the Worst”, which was an expression of having this feeling of something building up and had to
be resolved somehow. It was a state that kept evolving the less I acted, thought or said anything. This EP
is the creative output of me processing this inescapable feeling of unease.”
A really promising new artist that definitely deserves your attention!
