In her new single, ‘Black Eye,’ Allie X revisits her synth-heavy roots, evoking the sound that initially captivated our hearts, while also infusing it with a refreshing twist. The track pays homage to the 80s, drawing inspiration from the likes of Depeche Mode and New Order, yet Allie X masterfully shapes it into her distinctive style with her remarkable vocals and powerful lyrics. Particularly noteworthy is the song’s brilliant conclusion, ending with a proper bang.
