Amber Bain aka The Japanese House is back with a brand new single titled ‘Boyhood’. The track is the first new music from the London-based artist since her 2020 EP ‘Chewing Cotton Wool’.
The Japanese House delivers a dreamy and ethereal indie-pop song that will instantly transport you into another world. We have missed the unique blend of those lush synths and Bain’s soft and harmonious vocals. ‘Boyhood’ shows once again that Amber Bain creates beautiful and heartfelt lyrics without ever feeling heavy. Instead, the new single is a stunning song that is both introspective but uplifting at the same time thanks to the euphoric production. The Japanese House continues to prove that she’s one of the most exciting artists out there and we are happy she’s back! About the new single she says:
This song talks about how sometimes, however hard you try, you can’t help but be a product of the things that happened to you or held you back earlier on in life. But also, and more importantly, it’s about hope for overcoming those things. And look at us now. Not riding away, but towards… something. This horse was very lovely to us, but I think deep down Bam Bam was the horse we were riding all along, and wherever I’m recklessly galloping off to in my life, Katie will be riding bareback behind me like a lunatic, arms around me, like we’d always planned. Rip Bam Bam xxx”
